BMMHS Meeting 2021

Alamein

Stephen Bungay

Just wanted to say how impressed I was by the talk last night and indeed by the meeting itself – the first I’ve been able to attend.  An excellent speaker and a well organised meeting!

Welcome to the British Modern Military History Society !

Welcome to the British Modern Military History Society !

The formation of BMMHS is a landmark moment for me.  Since I was about 10 years old, I have been captivated by the events of World War Two, and as the years have progressed my interest has widened to other conflicts and events.

As with many of you,  I have read widely and visited historical military battlefields and sites across the globe – from the World War 1 battlefields, the Dambuster dams,  Arnhem, to  Percival’s Bunker and Changi prison in Singapore, and a 1930’s German Officer training academy at Vogelsand.

With the BMMHS,  we aim to provide a forum, through talks and trips, to learn  more from knowledgeable speakers and guides about military conflicts from the two World Wars and the Cold War, and all the other conflicts in the last one hundred years to today.

If you have a passion for recent military history, come and join us and tell your friends.  We are a not for profit organisation run by enthusiasts and will keep costs to a minimum but aim to provide a wide range of interesting and stimulating events for you to attend and participate.

We look forward to seeing you soon.  You can be assured of a warm welcome and an interesting time.
