SoFFAAM All Day Event – Falklands 40 Saturday 2nd April 2022

On April 2nd 1982, the Argentine invasion of the Falkland Islands began. 40 years on, The Society of Friends of the Fleet Air Arm Museum in conjunction with the Museum invites you to a day of lectures, retrospectively looking at the events of the Falklands War through the eyes of those who took part.

This commemorative event will host guest speakers and a panel Q&A finale. These will include:

Lt. General Sir Michael Rose – SAS Commander.
 
Captain Michael Clapp – Commodore Amphibious Warfare.
 
Commodore Neill Thomas – CO 899 NAS, Sea Harrier Pilot.
 
Harry Benson – The youngest ‘Junglie’ pilot of the Falklands campaign.

The first lecture begins at 10:30. The event will end with a Q&A Panel, to conclude at approximately 17:00. The Zoom will open shortly before the first speaker and close immediately after the Q&A session.
